Hey guys and gals. If you don’t hear much from me for the next week or two, you’ll know it’s because we’re scrambling to get things together in hopes that we can open our gallery space in just a couple of weeks! You’ll forgive me right? I’m looking forward to things slowing down a little bit after that — but I wonder if I’m being overly optimistic about the possibility of slowing down. Reading in the Proverbs for the last several months, I felt like the Lord was consistently reminding me about the causal relationship between hard work and prosperity. We sure would like one without the other, wouldn’t we?
I’m off task already.
Okay. So I’m working on narrowing down photos to what we will actually print and put on the walls to start out with in the Quiver Tree gallery. There will be a section of examples of the Hubs’ work with people to advertise his services as a people-y photographer, and I have some ideas for that section, but where I could use your help is with the fine art prints.
So. If I drop a bunch of photos into this blog post with a number beside them, would you mind just telling me what your Top 5 would be? Just assume you have vast amounts of cash and are planning on collecting some fine art photography prints and canvases to redecorate that second home you have in that magical destination nobody knows about. What might you choose for the space?
You can be as specific as you want. “I like the black and white zebra and I’d make it a 16 x 20 on canvas and put in on the mantle above my marble fireplace beside the moose antlers.” Or, you can just list the numbers of your top five, in order of preference, if you can.
Ready? Here we go!
Oh! And just an FYI — I uploaded these images in a Low Resolution because I didn’t want this blog post to weigh six gabillion gigabytes and cause your browser to reach out and smack you in the face for trying to open such a heavy page. They will be much sharper and crispier and prettier in real life.

I can’t wait to hear your responses, friends! And for those of you who come around here often and have seen more of the Hubs’ photos — are there others that come to mind that you think are missing? Thanks so much!
xCC
In no particular order because I cant choose they are all so nice! 2, 3, 4, 5, 7,8, 23, 25, 26, 33
Thanks so much, friend! You chose some of my favorites, too!!! Hope you are well! xoxo
SO first of all they are all Amazing and I am not too surprised by how much I want most of these in my home. I guess I should have tried to figure out the look yall want for the gallery but I did my best to get a sample. So if you were wanting something cohesive then disregard this comment:)
First of all, I am in love with 3, 22, 28, and 36.
But I think 1, 4, 8, 15, 23, 33.
And then maybe depending on space 5, 8, 9, and 12.
You guys are great and you will for sure have to let us know when you are finished. I am thinking ROADTRIP 🙂
Jayme — you are too sweet! Special price for you! 🙂 Please road trip to Washington! #36 is near the top of the list now! I like your choices!
Hi CC! I LOVE 1, 21, 23, 24, 28 and 34 (yes, I know that I chose 6 but they are just all so great) 🙂 Hope this helps!
Nicola
Thanks so much, Nicola — this definitely has helped us A LOT — big learning experience! Hope you are well!!
3, 4, 8, 12, 28
and maybe 26, 30 and 33 if I’d been to those places wherever they are.
What kind of a Scotswoman doesn’t pick Buachaille Etive Mòr as one of her favourites??? I’m kidding. Thank you so much for your input, sweet friend! You did choose the one we call “Blowing a Hoolie” (#3) which was taken near Glen Coe I think… 🙂 well done.
Oh, and 15 on a canvas would be great in any living room or indeed a counselling room…!
I’m so glad you will have the opportunity to showcase your beautiful photography in a gallery setting! As the proud owner of your wagtail picture, I would recommend that one as a display! However, of those in your post, I am partial to numbers 4, 5, 12, 14, 31, 35, and 36, but not in any particular order. I know you have other pictures of birds and flowers which are not pictured above, and as a bird and flower lover, I would suggest more of those categories too! Blessings to you all!
Mr Wagtail came to my mind after I put this together! He is one of my favorites and I think he deserves a spot to shine in the gallery, indeed! We definitely have more birds and flowers to share, and I think they are popular with lots of folks, and we need to keep them in mind! Thanks SO so much for your input!!!
very superficial glance and choosing of my favs, 32,28,24, 1, 20, 35 (I don’t know about gallery choosing, just my favs)- some awesome composition and colour Markus! I am totally wowed!
Thanks darling Pammy — so sad we couldn’t see each other when we were in the southern hemi. I love your eclectic choices! 🙂
Hi Caroline! Here are my favorite five: 3, 7, 15, 18, and 22. Those are some of the best, but they also show a range in subject matter that might be appealing to folks down east: people, sunsets, exotic wildlife, flowers, sunsets, and big / open natural spaces. Those are my thoughts, which are free and worth every penny as they say. Congrats on opening the space! Can’t wait to see it in person. 🙂
Thanks so much, friend! I wish you could come and help me hang these things on the wall week after next! 😀 Can’t wait to see YOU in person. And tell Derick well done for putting a ring on it! 😉 tehee
Hey Caroline! I like them all but there are some favorites, especially with a “black” background! They are…4, 5, 11, 15, 21, 28, 29, 32. Sorry I couldn’t just pick one!
Thank you so much, Heather! We might have to put a picture or two of your family up to showcase Mark’s family photography!
They are all stunning it was so difficult to choose just 5. My favourites are 1,8,12,15 and 27 but also really like 3,13,26 and 28. Hope the gallery opening goes well.x
Absolute favorite is 15! The colors are beautiful! 26, 27, 29 are great too! The wildlife in Africia: perhaps do in black and white. There are not a lot of constrasting colors and they lend in. I think they would look great as black and whites
I narrowed it down to 7. I wanted a variety – as I’m sure you do, so here they are: 1; 7; 12; 15; 20; 28; 31. By the looks of these comments, you may be more confused than before! Good luck!
Wow, if we come to NC after all, we’ll be sure to visit the gallery , these are absolutely stunning. Asking to pick 5 is a bit much, I managed to get down to 13 although I love all of them! 1,4,7,12,15,20,21,23,24,25,33,34,35. There ya go 🙂
And these are my hubbie’s favourites – 4,7,15,21,33,34
So hard to choose! My favourites would have to be 15, 36, 34, 16 and 6!
1, 6, 9, 12 and 15 🙂
Very excited for you guys and this wonderful opportunity!
