Hi Kate, Thanks for your comment and your care! We are quite careful -- my husband is South African and he usually speaks to the person and decides, and we almost always only pick up women and only very rarely even that. I haven't learned to drive a stick shift yet, and Mr Potato Head is a stick shift unfortunately, so I'm not driving by myself at all yet and definitely won't be picking anyone up if I'm by myself! We're trusting the Lord for protection but using caution and wisdom at the same time! :) Hope you're doing well! Btw- Is your scuba place near the post office in GB? I think we passed it the other day and I thought of you!

Hi Caroline

Now don't get me wrong, but please be careful when picking up strangers. Things aren't always as they seem in South Africa and the most honest-looking people - be they red, white, pink, green or brown - could be knifing you in the back before you know it. Unfortunately this is a reality (I am speaking from a very very nasty experience).

You were lucky and very giving which is admirable in this day and age. Most of us want to help others less fortunate but it can be a big risk - there are some very good actors out there and it is not always easy to figure out who is for real ...

You have a big, giving heart - please look after it.

Best wishes

Thank you, Grace! And thank you for the scripture from Exodus 15 that you shared with me the other day. Good encouragement in good timing from a good friend! Hope you are doing well. :)
